Courtney lost her job at the start of the new year, and got a new one working for FIC America, thanks to Aunt Donna.  I was termed from my job at Vita Food for stupid reasons and to believe I was setup for the same reason at the end of March and was just hired on as a temp-to-perm position with Fisher Nuts in Elgin.  I truly believe this job will be sooooo much better then the last one. Jynx is doing well, shes being Jynx.  Shes a good pup, doesn’t always listen but shes a good dog.  She came with us down to E-ville for her sisters wedding, got a case of fleas due to being outside a lot and being down at her parents house but we got it taken care of which was good.

Last October Courtney’s sister Erica got married and we were down in E-ville for that, then we were back down there in November for Thanksgiving which we didn’t stay at her parents house and stayed at her g-ma’s which was nice.  We ended up having a small wedding shower thrown for us thanks to her Aunt Debbie, got a lot of nice gifts and stuff that was needed for the apartment.  Went to Casino Aztar, which happen to be the first time I have ever gambled in a casino and came home with money, almost 200 in cash which was nice.

I once again got my Chicago Rush season tickets and have made some new friend whom sit behind us at the games.  Also have gone to 1 of 4 Cubs games as well.  Got to see new Cub Matt Garza pitch, pitched really well but got no offensive help as normal, though they still won in extra innings. I still have three more games so lets see if they win in 9innings those games.

Since the start of the year both Courtney and I haven’t really been playing World of Warcraft anymore due to money and lack of interest as our guild really stopped playing as well due to school, work or other things going on.  Although we have gotten back into Warhammer and going to Games Workshop in both Downers Grove and Oak Park, more Oak Park then the other but both are still fun.   Been painting my Imperial Guard and my Orks, as the new rule at Oak Park is your army needs to be painted to be able to use the gaming tables, which allows me to do the painting as I dislike doing but its ok, gives me something new to do.

Wedding, wedding and wedding.  Its coming up fast.  July 9th to be exact almost 2 months away as of Monday.  It has been decided that will we be going to Costa Rica for the honeymoon.  I wanna see monkeys and sloths and other exotic animals of that matter.  We are staying in San Jose and then going all over from there.  Now what we will be doing exactly is no idea to me yet as we are waiting to hear back from someone at the hotel with what we will be doing and when, but we should know soon.

So this is just an update.  I should start posting more, which I may start doing again, though we shall see.

So since my last update in May, I moved back in with my mom for a month because of issues with the apartment we were in.  Flooded, twice in about a three-week period due to a faulty sump pump, though I loved the apartment and the landlords. the flooding was just not worth the lost time and money at work.  The roommates on the other hand were total dicks and honestly roommates are never gonna be done again.  There are only 2 people I think Courtney and I will ever consider living with are Courtney’s best friend Sara and her husband Dan.   Like I said we moved back into the house for about a month, sleeping on an air mattress, most of our furniture  stayed at the one apartment until we found another place.  We were able to find a new place pretty quick and allowed us to be out of mom’s by the 1st of July.  One of mom’s friends owns a few buildings and were able to get a place in one of them about 2 blocks from her house.  Moved everything in and then we were on vacation for the 4th of July which we went down and visited Courtney’s family.

So I started riding my bike the last couple of weeks.  Really up to today I have 4 times in 9 days and have rode 29.03 miles in about 2 hours on the bike.  The first ride I took was 13 miles in 1hr 15min. Which followed by a 10mi ride that took 51min.  The last two days i only did 3mi rides which both took less then 15min which was good timing for me, just shows I’d be able to keep my 10mi rides under 1hr.  I am in the processes of trying to find the best routes where I am having the least amount of car interaction.  I use a program called endomondo which tracks my routes, times, etc if you want to check out my profile and my workouts so far you can go HERE.

Ok, you may ask 13 months ago I was moving back to Chicago which is true but what I did was a week or two before moving back. In the process of cleaning up and packing to move back I threw some stuff out I really wish I didn’t do. Now I threw out a lot of junk but honestly the stuff I am talking about really to me wasn’t junk, it was my life for 2.5 years. You now may be asking what is he talking about, and honestly as I am typing this I don’t really wanna say but its not going to help the cause but what was thrown away was everything and I mean everything I was given as a gift, to a letter at summer camp, to a birthday card to xmas cards from Jen.

Now you may ask, why are you thinking about this when your with Courtney for over 4 years now? Well its because I think about the most random things at work and somethings someone can say something that may spark a memory or a thought and then I think about it for awhile. Now as I reread what I have typed here, I though of the title. “A Little Piece of Me Died That Day.” Now another question may ask, why would he title this blog post that? Well its because a piece of me really did die that day. You must realize that Jen was my everything for those 2.5 years, my frist true love, the first girl I said “I love you” to other then a family member and it really meaning something, we both had the same morals, same ideas and so much more in common. Although college hit and we grew apart as she had a lot of school work to do and I with my own thing and we eventually broke up which was for the best.

Though getting rid of all the items at the time felt good to finally let go of the past and move on with the present and future I had with Courtney, though as I look back I wish I didn’t get rid of all of it just because I could look at it and remember all the memories we had. I’m sure Courtney still has stuff Nick gave her and can remember what they had, all I have now are the memories in side not the visiual which is good to have every now and then.

Last time I truly blogged was back on January 2nd about wanting to join the National Guard which as most of you know, I didn’t so thats that.  I am still working at Vita Foods and was finally hire full time yesterday Friday, May 14th.  I am going to be able to get 2 weeks paid vacation, insurance for both Courtney and I.  I did get a nice little raise as well which will be nice.

Courtney and I moved out of the house and moved to Elmwood Park, IL which is closer to work for me but seems like it takes about the same time to get to work due to red lights and such.  Though I do like where we are living, we got to baby sit the land lords baby today, she is so adorable.

We got Rush season tickets again this year, we have gone to two of the three home games because for the second one we had Jeremy Pieples wedding to goto.  The Rush won the first game by a field goal and then tonights game they were getting their asses kicked due to a lot of bad calls by the refs.  We are going to two Cubs games in the next few days,  Cubs/Pirates tomorrow and then Cubs/Rockies on Tuesday for my birthday.

I am still playing Warhammer, I play Orks, Eldar and Imperial Guard for Warhammer 40k, and I play High Elf and Lizardmen for fantasy.  I need to take some pictures of the stuff I have painted and such to show ya.

Other then that, thats about it.

I know some people will be like no don’t do it, which I probably wont due to the fact I don’t know how I would handle it, but it could give me the experience of something new though it can also help me with my future, not just for myself but also for Courtney and our future family. It would help me pay my school loans and personal debt a lot quicker.  Due to being a college grad I would be an officer right off the bat, then depending on the area I decide I go in and how I do on tests and such, I can go up the ranks pretty quick.

This is something that would have to be discussed not only with Courtney which we have talked about some, but also with other family members as well.  Though like I said, its just a thought that will probably get no action.

Its been since the start of August since I last made a post so I guess I can update from there.  Really haven’t done much since my last post.   I am still working at Vita Foods in Chicago, Courtney finally found a new job with a company called Jallo Equipment and Supply, INC. in Broadview which is a lot closer than Office Max is in Hodgkins.  Both of us are still into Warhammer, though we are now into Warhammer 40k now which is the futuristic version of the other game we play.  I play Orks and Eldar, while Courtney is starting up her army which is the Tyranids.  I know this doesn’t really mean much to most of you but it is an update.

Courtney and I we to visit her family for Christmas while going and seeing her friend Ashley in Bloomington/Normal for the New Year.  Really other than that not much else has happened since August, so this blog entry will come to an end for the time being, though I do hope to keep the resolution going this year.

So what I have been doing for the last couple of weeks was on my home from work I goto the Oak Park location which is just by the Lake Theatre which is kinda good because we can always stop in the store before we go see a movie and vice versa.

Games workshop has three main core games, War Hammer, War Hammer 40,000 and Lord of the Rings.  I decided to play War Hammer because I do like Lord of the Rings but the game itself isn’t what I like.  Though War Hammer is very different from LotR due to play style and the armies.  Armies now, I am playing the High Elf army.  I started collecting these guys a few years ago but due to other activies and school and such, I kind of put it aside and they were put under the house and forgotten about.  About a month or so ago, Courtney, Suzie and I were walking back to the car after seeing a movie and I wanted to stop into the Games Workshop and after looking around, I knew I had some around the house some where.  I was able to find them and I have gotten back into it.  I was able to get Courtney to get into it as well, which is always good because then it gives us something to do together.  She decided to pick up Wood Elves.  With her really being into LotR and in love with Legolas from the movies she really liked that army and has started to build that army slowly right now.

We did get the starter set which comes with Dwarfs and Orcs and Goblins.  Once I get my High Elf army built and going, I think I am going to work on the Dwarfs army next.

I was able to get Ryan to get interested in the game when we brought him into the store on Friday before we saw Harry Potter.  He decided to get the War Hammer 40k starter set last night after I told him not to but he did what he wanted to do.  Since he was interested in Space Marines and pretty much only them, he gave me the other army Orks army for the payment of 1 milk shake and a movie ticket.  Saving lots of money that way.

This is just something to get me out and off the computer, I am willing to try and explain it more if you have questions but if not s’all good.  Below is a picture of one of my High Elf Archers:

Well where to begin.  The last thing you guys were able to read was the letter we sent out to everyone at the start of the 2009 year.  What has happened since that point.

Well Courtney, Jynx and I lived in Orlando, FL until Easter weekend which is when my dad came down and drove back to Chicago.  We ended up not leaving when we wanted to because the car we were suppose to get when we moved wasn’t in stock at the rental so they gave us something they concidered to be in the same class as the one we wanted, so dad brought the car to the apartment and we started putting stuff in there and it was WAY small and would not have worked at all for all our stuff, even if we were to pack the car full.  Dad brought the car back and we had to rent a truck instead.  That way we were able to bring all of our stuff home which was good cause we were going to have to leave our bed and some other stuff there I was really wanting to keep.  So instead of being on the road at like 2:30 or 3am we didn’t get on the road until almost 10ish.  We got home on Easter just in time for me to start my new job Monday morning.

The job I have is Quality Control at Vita Foods. I do work every day 6 – 2:30 making more then I was making at Kodak in Orlando which is nice.  I do get paid weekly which helps with the bills and usually always have money when I am not broke from my bills.  Quality Control pretty much makes sure the salmon products are weighing correctly, I check the x-ray machines to make sure they work properly so metal or other things don’t get in the products.  I make sure the line workers are doing what they are suppose to be doing, wearing gloves, ear plugs, hair nets properly.  I am now doing a lot of lab work as well.

Courtney still works for Office Max working between both Impress and register, though is still looking for a new job.  Though with how the times are will deal with what she has until she can find something decent enough to leave O-max.

Courtney and I moved back in with my mom and Suzie for the time being until we can afford to get our own place again but we do have to find a place where they allow dogs, due to Jynx.

The two of us are also putting a wedding together, we have an appointment this Thursday with a place to have it at, so we will have more info about that coming soon.  We have two dates planned June 26th and July 17th.  We have the wedding parties set, Courtney has the colors picked out but thats pretty much it.  She is hoping to be getting her dress soon, if she gets the one she has been looking at for about a month now.
